A White Christmas in Harmony

Over the past two weeks, we have accumulated over 60 inches of snowfall in good ol' New Harmony. We are working off the Christmas calories by shoveling snow and then going back inside for a good game of canasta and hot chocolate. The problem is we are drinking more hot chocolate than we are shoveling snow. We sure are enjoying the holiday rest and gearing up for the new semester at school and work.

Christmas in the Dominican Republic

Today was Christmas Day and the best present of all was to talk to Dave for about two hours! It was so good to hear his voice and to feel his enthusiasm for the work he's doing. He loves training his new companion (his "baby missionary" they call the greenies) Elder Carter from Morgan, Utah. They've become great friends and are having much success together. Dave says it's certainly a different culture and a country with much poverty, but they are hungry for the gospel and he's loving the people. When Lindsay tried to talk to him about what plans he has after the mission he seemed hesitant to want to talk about coming home. He assured us he's anxious to see us all again but loves what he's doing and feels there's still much to do in such a little time. For us--there's no place we would rather he be, but will sure be glad to get him home on April 29th.
